Temujin's Blue Note , the first release from the upcoming album "Tru Lai" introduces you today simultaneously two artists who will release on "Saigon Supersound" in the future.

One is Brotha Lok a French producer from Toulouse, with roots in Vietnam, who produced this track. On the other hand DJ Slowz from Hanoi/Vietnam who contributed the remix. Read more about the title itself in Brotha Lok's own words and watch the VIDEO to get further impressions.

Brotha Lok: I am a Lai, as we refer to mixed-race people in Vietnam.

I was born with the Mongolian spot, a blue birthmark commonly found in the back of Asian European mixed babies, and that we usually refer to as the blue mark.

From the blue mark to the blue note, the transposition was obvious, but thinking about what those two concepts could have in common, I was astounded when I found out that they both were symbols of mix : the first one regarding blood and genes, and the second one regarding musical cultures.

So I found it funny to translate this word into a more poetic way, and “Temujin” (aka Genghis Khan) came to my mind as this name refers to the most iconic Mongolian character.

Setting this to music, I had to find a way to combine jazzy sounds and allusions to Mongolian culture. This is how “Temujin’s Blue Note” came out.
